Angelica Markén. Artist born in Sweden (1974). Her work has been shown in museums, galleries and pride festivals. She has been featured in articles, TV interviews and participated in several solo and jury-selected exhibitions both in Sweden and internationally. Angelica Markén’s portrait of James Baldwin was selected by journalist and founder of ‘Native Sons’ - Emil Wilbekin (USA) for his article on Baldwin (2018). Giovanni’s Room’, ‘The Fire Next Time’, ‘Go tell it to the mountain’ are some of the work she finds very important, also the documentary ‘I’m not your negro’ (2016) who spread his legacy to a broader and younger audience
