Buleri Kalume Bernard is a Congolese writer, singer, actor, translater and fixer. He is the father of ten children and a former staff member with the UN Security Council and Monusco. His life story, including the murder of his wife in the Rwandan genocide, was the subject of the HBO documentary The Greatest Silence: Rape in the Congo directed by Lisa Jackson and featured at the Sundance Film festival. Most recently he performed at Congo BandAid, a concert in Tel Aviv to raise funds to help women who have been raped and child soldiers in the south Kivu province.
