as an educator, khalil anthony peebles has worked within varying communities around the world sharing his unique arts-education strategies. since 1999, khalil’s work with youth speaks, inc., help change the international landscape of poetry/spoken world via civic engagement, innovative programming and performance.
throughout khalil anthony’s life, a strong arts practice and a constant stream of creative projects work to enhance his sense of community and arts making. committed to excellence, his music has appeared in the emmy winning broadband series, satacracy 88. as a dancer and performer, anthony toured the continental us, as a contributing writer and performer with marc bamuthi joseph’s play, ‘word becomes flesh.’
anthony was invited to the james baldwin international conference in paris, france, where he created his film, “the implications of giovanni’s room on black boy queer identity.”
a flourishing music career, which started in 2007, has increased the reach of khalil anthony’s words and creativity around the world. with extensive radio plays, online streams, 2 european and south african tours. anthony’s music is alive and vibrant. living and working in berlin, germany opened up the world of electronic music for anthony as he worked with some of the biggest names electronic music.
